I'm humbled when I'm contacted by friends...and by strangers to paint something for their child's room or home. However, this set makes a younger version of myself humbled and proud. My supervisor from my first job (circa 1998...back in NC) called me a month ago and asked me to take on two projects for her grandsons. She will always have a special place in my heart and still sets the standard for a supervisor who balanced both challenging AND taking care of her young professional staff. So...yeah...these make me smile. (Here's hoping they make her, her daughter and grandsons smile too!)

These are the first half of the order...two painted stools to go.

The majority of my life is spent coaching and counseling college students. So, when a mom from Texas contacted me, asking me to paint a canvas with Jeremiah 29:11 on it for her daughter to take to college, I was elated to be a tiny part of this young woman's start...and if this verse is her foundation...and she lets God's plan play out...she will bless others and be blessed in the journey!

THEN...the mom asked me to add a yellow/purple tiger paw. So, I wrote back joking that this Auburn tiger would do her best. And what do you know? She shared that her daughter's friend was Auburn-bound this fall and ordered one for her too!

So...I totally used an on-line translator to put together the title of this entry. I was somewhat encouraged when I read it that I at least had an "Oh yeah!" moment...so I guess the 2 1/2 years of Spanish (high school and college) is rambling around in my brain somewhere.

But enough of that...this Spanish teacher's canvas demanded some extra creative juice and was a ton of fun to paint!

She forwarded me a low resolution picture, and I sketched her kiddos from that. The sweet yellow lab and tabby cat were a fun addition.
